He was a member of IHL Turner Cup championship teams with both Denver in 1994-95 and Utah in 1995-96. Following a college hockey career at the University of New Hampshire, he played 14 seasons at both the National Hockey League and minor league levels, including four seasons in a Bruins uniform from 1988-92. He has also done play-by-play for ESPN's coverage of hockey and soccer, including the 2002 World Cup finals, and the Little League World Series. He joined ESPN in 1991 as an anchor and reporter for SportsCenter and won an Emmy award for his ESPN reporting. He came to Boston in the 1980s as a sports anchor and reporter at both WCVB-TV 5 and WHDH-TV 7 and also worked as a reporter for ABC's Wide World of Sports and Olympic coverage on both ABC and CBS. A graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Edwards began his career doing play-by-play of Wildcats hockey which led to reporter and anchor positions in both radio and television in New Hampshire and Providence. A television veteran of over 30 years, he came to NESN after five years of play-by-play for both ESPN and HDNet broadcasts of NHL games.
